Kintsugi is the Japanese art of putting broken pottery pieces back together with gold —
An artistic way of giving value to something once seen as worthless; the complete opposite of cancel culture I guess…
The Japanese had it figured out.
An idea created on the fact that if flaws and imperfections were seen as normal and humane;
With a little bit of love and care,
You could create an even stronger and more beautiful piece of art.
It teaches us to treat people with grace;
To be mindful in our race, destiny, or this journey we face.
It’s not a one mile track, but a marathon
Take the time to embrace the chips and cracks
Because with just a little love and care,
You will regain your worth.
I know you’ve been rejected,
You’ve been hated for being less than according to man-made standards,
You were given one chance and you blew it so they turned a blind eye.
I’m sorry you had to go through that, but if you see them again?
Tell them you’re sorry for not being as perfect as them.
Tell them that next time your name crosses their minds, they should pray for you instead,
Pray to get as close to heaven as them.
You’re a work in progress and with a little love, care and grace, the gold will flow through the cracks and you will regain your worth…
