Heaven

Sometimes I think about heaven…
I picture streams of pure water flowing,
Birds chirping, bees buzzing, sun glowing…

Sometimes I think about heaven…
Butterflies liberated from their cocoons,
Waterfalls dangling down the Rocky cliffs,
The bronze sun shining and yet the moon is taking a peek in broad daylight…A washed away white, like tear stains from our past lives…

Sometimes I wonder what heaven is like…
Leaves rattling as they elbow each other,
Some falling as they tango their way into rivers,
Waters swooshing as they’re blown away by the winds…

Does heaven have a beach?
Is the water sky-blue? Are the waves passionately kissing the shore? Are the seagulls singing harmoniously? Is an angel playing the harp? Are lions and antelopes playing a game of catch?
What is heaven like?

At times I long for heaven…
A time beyond time itself,
A place with neither tears nor sorrows, no fear, no pain, no loss… No loss…

When I picture heaven I see you…
I see you and wonder if you can see me too,
I wonder if you can hear me, or if you heard the prayers I made for you, if you saw the streams flowing down my cheeks, if you saw the light almost being drawn from my eyes, if you felt my heart getting colder as your body did, if you heard my insides shattering on the cold hard floor as your soul returned to its maker…

Sometimes I think about heaven…
Sometimes I think about you…
These are the things that cross my mind when I think of you…
