Shadow

They say to tell them when the breaking point draws near,

But are they ready to listen to what has to be said.

Are they strong enough to comprehend the battle inside my brain?

Are they empathic enough to provide the connection to stop my tears?

Is it a shoulder to cry on that I need or a logical mind to help me reach reason.

Is it acceptance & understanding that I am searching for or pretence good enough to aid me in seeing my tomorrow.

In moments when the shadow invades your brain, thinking spins out of control.

In moments when tears fill your eyes, rational thoughts are as vain as facing your fears…
