Today

This morning she rose, before the sun’s rays could be exposed.

Today she decided that she would not sell herself short,

That she would not allow her appearance to call the shots.

Today she had an epiphany through the pain she bore,

The very one that keeps her awake at night, looking to the sky for a sign of hope.

Today she make a very important choice,

One that would allow her to look past her flaws, past her broken wings to the everlasting.

Today she decided to carry her cross and walk, accept her flaws and talk,

Today she decided to be accept life and live.

That was this morning, her Today…
