Do it for you and not him…

A friend of mine just made me realise that a lot of women still dress up and wear make-up for the attention of the opposite sex.
It’s really sad to see to what extent we go as females to get the attention of men. Before you think I am judging, let me admit that I was also in that category. I would do my hair and dress a certain way to get validation from boys on whether or not I was pretty enough…

Recently I realised that life is not about them and that my world should not revolve around men, that I was made in the likeness of my Creator

and He thinks I am beautiful. Listening to Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie made me realise that it’s time to change women’s views and perceptions about men and what role they play in their lives.

This doesn’t mean we have to stop wearing make-up and hair extensions, it simply means we have to think of why we do it, and do it for ourselves and not for him…
